Judith Jacobson is POAH's Managing Director/General Counsel, responsible for developing the organization’s legal strategies around acquisitions and operations and for guiding POAH’s legal affairs, ensuring legal compliance, and limiting organizational risk exposure. Jacobson works closely with and advises POAH's CEO, board of directors, legal team, and senior leadership team.
Jacobson has over 30 years of experience in the affordable housing and community development field including the areas of financing multifamily rental properties, credit enhancement of tax-exempt bonds, first-time homebuyer programs, regulations for mixed finance of public housing, and technical assistance to municipalities. She has spearheaded major innovations in the field of affordable housing, including the development of the One Source loan program for construction and permanent loans and MassDocs, the consolidated closing documents used for all state subsidy loans.
She has received numerous awards, including the Community Service Award from Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association, the Unsung Hero Award from the Women’s Bar Association, and the Public Service Award from Commercial Real Estate Women. On a volunteer basis, she has also served as the chair of the Newton Community Preservation Committee and the Real Estate Bar Association’s Affordable Housing Committee.
Jacobson received her J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston and her B.A. from Clark University in Worcester, MA.
