Jorge Colón is a Senior Staff Attorney in POAH’s Legal Department, assisting POAH's general counsel and deputy general counsel and supporting POAH's paralegal with all aspects of the department's work, including project legal work and corporate legal services. Jorge is responsible for providing legal advice to POAH staff across all departments, drafting and reviewing a wide variety of contracts, including design and construction contracts and purchase and sale agreements, along with assisting with legal aspects of POAH's financing, including advising on business structures and legal entities.
Prior to joining POAH, Jorge was most recently a court service center manager at the Massachusetts Trial Court, where he supported operations and programs at six Court Service centers across the state to assist pro se litigants. During his time there, Jorge was appointed by the chief justice of the Boston Municipal Court to be chair of the Spread the Word Working Group of the Language Access Advisory Committee.
Jorge teaches first-time homebuyers classes at the Allston Brighton CDC and formerly was a Homeownership Program director there. He also worked on workforce development programs at the Somerville Community Corporation.
Jorge received his J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and has a B.A. in journalism from the University of Puerto Rico.
