Marcel Merwin serves as the 2023 Kuehn Fellow at POAH, contributing to various aspects of project management and development oversight. He is involved in development from inception through completion, handling project management, budgets, and collaborations with contractors, architects, and community stakeholders for diverse developments encompassing new construction, rehabilitation, historic preservation, and neighborhood revitalization.
Marcel is an award-winning licensed architect (Texas), and previously worked in fabrication and large-scale art installation as well as residential, commercial, and institutional projects. He won the 2022 FHA Affordable Housing Development Competition with the project “The Del Toro Affordable Artist Community”. Marcel served on the Architecture Center Houston Board of Trustees, where he curated the biennial Houston Architecture Film Festival from 2018-2022.
Marcel holds a Master in Design Studies (MDes) from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) from Rice University.
