The Burnham is 65–unit senior development that opened in August of 2015 as part of Woodlawn Park - a new, vibrant, healthy and attractive mixed-use/mixed-income urban community containing a variety of distinctive structures in Chicago's Woodlawn community just south of the University of Chicago.

The building’s residential amenities include a fitness center, health clinic with part-time geriatrician, activity room, grilling and sun patio, game room and upper story balconies overlooking the street, twelve garden beds and laundry and storage on every floor.   The first floor of the building houses the Woodlawn Park Management Office and the Woodlawn Resource Center, which includes a state of the art computer learning center, meeting suite and Town Hall meeting room, and therapeutic counseling space.  The Burnham shares a garden space and parking with Metrosquash’s youth and family center which opened in April 2015.

The property is certified LEED Gold and contains 18 solar thermal panels and 122 photovoltaic panels, enough to offset almost 20% of the building’s daily electric load and depending on the season, more than half of the energy to produce the building’s hot water.

The third new construction project in the redevelopment of Grove Parc, the Burnham was the first phase of the Woodlawn Park redevelopment financed by a Choice Neighborhoods Initiative loan, and the first private development closed with these funds in the country. Other significant financing included a 9% tax credit award and HOME loan from the City of Chicago.
