POAH and supporters cut the ribbon to mark the completion of renovations at Lafayette Terrace Apartments, a 94-unit development consisting of eight buildings in Chicago including a 52-unit mid-rise senior building at 6950 S. Vincennes and 42 family townhomes units located just west of the Dan Ryan Expressway along 75th Street. The development underwent a $5 million makeover preserving it as an affordable housing option for the neighborhood. Guest speakers included: Steve Ott, Department of Housing and Urban Development; Audra Hamernik, Illinois Housing Development Authority; Alderman Roderick T. Sawyer, 6th Ward; Aaron Gornstein, POAH; Meghan Harte, LISC Chicago; and seniors Elizabeth Barlow and Ricardo Peterson who are residents at Lafayette Terrace.
