The Burnham Manor and the Burnham Wing Schoolhouse Apartments in Elgin have been purchased by a nonprofit group committed to preserving their historical features and their use as affordable housing.
The Chicago branch of the Preservation of Affordable Housing spent $9.1 million to acquire Burnham Manor at 1350 Fleetwood Drive and $2 million for Burnham Wing building at 260 Center St., Vice President Bill Eager said. Both were owned by Chicago-based Burnham Management Co.
