Description

Jackson Park Terrace is a 318 unit complex made up of over twenty low-rise buildings and one high-rise, across from Jackson Park. Located only half a mile from Island Terrace Apartments, another POAH property, it was originally built by the Woodlawn Community Development Corp., one of the country's first community development corporations.

Comprising studio, one-,two-, three-, and four-bedroom units, Jackson Park Terrace also features onsite amenities including a community room with kitchen, fitness center, and a community greenhouse. The property boasts easy access to public transit, local grocery stores and medical services.

Located near the future site of the Obama Presidential Center, it was a prime candidate for conversion to market rate housing.  With the goal of keep these units as an affordable housing option in the Woodlawn area, POAH partnered with Jonathan Rose Companies to purchase Jackson Park Terrace.  Additionally, they plan for a $4 million renovation of the property's maintenance systems.

Jonathan Rose Companies will manage the property, while POAH will provide resident services through our community impact department.  This will include many of the opportunities offered at our near by Woodlawn Resource Center.
