Aviad Kopelowitz

Project Manager Washington D.C.

Aviad Kopelowitz is a project manager in POAH’s Washington, D.C. office focusing mainly on the Barry Farm project, a 34-acre mixed-use, mixed-income, multi-phased neighborhood redevelopment in Anacostia that will create 900 residential apartments and 40,000 square feet of new retail and service uses.

Aviad advances the Barry Farm master planning process that includes residents, community partners and other stakeholders and development team members. He helps secure project financing and engages with HUD, state and local housing agencies, lenders, investors and other funding partners to ensure collaboration and timely project progress.

Avi works with internal and external team members on project design and construction scopes following POAH standards including trauma-informed design and climate resiliency best practices, site specific requirements, and design preferences and goals that emerge through the community planning process.

Before joining POAH, Aviad was an Associate Developer with Pennrose, LLC in Baltimore where he helped secure funding for projects, managed development team members and project budgets. Prior to that he was a consultant with Praisen Partners and worked with Broad Management and Estrella Management. He was involved in energy and water efficiency programs at Carleton Energy Consulting and Sustainable Long Island.

Aviad holds a master’s degree in Real Estate from New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate and a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from the City University of New York at Queens College.
